Four bold originals and five equally daring arrangements of beautiful classic standards comprise the brand new recording by one of the busiest groups on today’s international jazz scene. “The Best Is Yet To Come,” The Rick Hollander Quartet featuring Brian Levy’s follow-up release to their critically-acclaimed Laika Records debut “On the Up and Up,” offers a healthy dose of the signature qualities that have brought this quartet to prominence since its formation in 2016 – sumptuous acoustic sound, deeply swinging rhythm, and Hollander’s heartfelt readings of lyrics that introduce and inspire many of the performances.

Saxophonist Brian Levy, guitarist Paul Brändle, bassist Will Woodard and leader/drummer Rick Hollander, each a powerful individual voice, have forged a collective musical identity characterized by a rare mix of highly calibrated precision and soulful, joyful abandon. The current state of this continuously evolving music was beautifully documented during the group’s Autumn 2018 European Tour, when recording engineer Lori Lorenzen and videographer Christoph Bombart joined the group at Fluxx studios in Munich, Germany.
